The area is known for its green tropical forests, pristine beaches, and diverse wildlife. The region is home to a variety of animals including monkeys, sloths, toucans, and scarlet macaws. The history of Nosara can be traced back to the pre-Columbian era, where indigenous tribes such as the Chorotega lived in the area. The region was later colonized by the Spanish in the 16th century, but it wasn’t until the 20th century that the area began to see significant development. In the 1950s, a group of American expatriates discovered the area and began to develop it as a tourist destination.
