The region is home to a mix of dry tropical forest and coastal ecosystems, which provide habitats for a wide variety of plant and animal species. One of the most common animals you can find in this area are monkeys, specifically the white-faced capuchin and howler monkeys, that can be easily seen in their natural habitats such as the forest and mangrove swamps. Visitors can also spot iguanas sunbathing on the rocks and armadillos scurrying around the forest floor and toucans and scarlet macaws in the skies.
