Esquinas Rainforest Lodge is located near the Piedras Blancas National Park, in Southern Costa Rica. It is about a 45-minute drive (52 km or 32.3 miles) southeast of Palmar Norte, or about 5 hours (304 km or 188.9 miles) southeast of the Juan Santamaría International Airport. Guests may also choose to fly from the Juan Santamaría Airport to Golfito, about an hour, and then drive out towards the lodge (approximately a 25-minute drive, 10.2 km or 6.3 miles).
Set on 37 acres of private reserve, Esquinas Rainforest Lodge borders, on three sides, the Piedras Blancas National Park and, thanks to the nearby Golfito National Wildlife Refuge and Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve, is virtually surrounded by thousands of acres of forest. The lodge has a lovely outdoor pool, a restaurant, and a bar. The restaurant serves traditional cuisine based on organically grown vegetables and fruits, from the lodge’s gardens, as well as fresh products, such as freshly caught fish from the Golfo Dulce.
Esquinas Rainforest Lodge offers a large variety of tours and excursions that lead through a jungle with a biodiversity equal to the nearby Osa Peninsula and Corcovado National Park. Activities include hiking, night tours, bike tours, birdwatching, dolphin watching, and boat and kayak tours in nearby Golfo Dulce.
This hotel is located approximately 7 hours from Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose (190 miles/305 km) and 3 hours from Daniel Oduber Quiros International Airport in Liberia (259 miles/418 km).
