We hear about so many things that we can’t do right now. We can’t travel. We can’t see our friends. We can’t eat out at restaurants. We can’t have our dream vacation. We can’t, we can’t, we can’t.
No more can’t. Let’s focus on what we can do.
We can daydream about all the beautiful places we want to visit when the quarantine is lifted.
We can imagine crunching our toes in warm sand and feeling the hot sun on our face in Guanacaste.
We can dance to Caribbean beats in our house like we’re in Puerto Viejo.
We can dream about walking through the misty, chilly forests of Monteverde.
What can you do in your house to feel like you are in a Costa Rican paradise?
You can drink a fresh cup of Costa Rican coffee and imagine the sunny mountainside where the beans were grown.
You can make your own version of Costa Rica’s most famous breakfast: Gallo Pinto, with just a few common ingredients.
You can listen to our playlist of local Costa Rican musicians and feel the Tico vibes.
You can make your phone backgrounds into tropical wonderlands.

It’s easy to get frustrated when we have to postpone our vacations and stay home. Just take a deep breath and try to turn your quarantine into an opportunity to connect with yourself…just like you would on vacation!
Put on an audio of ocean waves and do some yoga stretches in between conference calls.
Instead of always texting, call one of your friends or family to catch up with your loved ones each day.
Get out of your pajamas and into your favorite sundress, swimsuit, or tank top. We promise feeling fresh and cute will help motivate you!
Make yourself a (non-alcoholic) fruity cocktail like a virgin piña colada or a strawberry daiquiri to sip on while you answer emails.
Take a break from Netflix to journal about how you feel. Your day doesn’t have to be packed with adventure to be worth writing about.
We’re all in this together! Together, with some creativity, we can turn even a quarantine into a little bit of paradise.
And don’t worry about your dream vacation. Costa Rica isn’t going anywhere. We’ll be here waiting for you once we all get back on our feet.
